Ahoy Crew-mates of the Pollywogg!
Air Play for Pirates:
Captain Bogg & Salty has been named “GREASY KID STUFF ARTIST OF THE YEAR, 2005”.
What? You haven’t heard of Greasy Kid Stuff?? Well, allow me to light a candle in the darkness for ye.
Greasy Kid Stuff is a saturday morning radio show that broadcasts live on the east coast and they play THE coolest “kid’s” music. They are exquisite vinyl junkies with a flair for unearthing kooky silly classics as well as spot-lighting what I have always called “The Fisher-Price My First Rock
Band” type music. I’m being square as a knot with you, Greasy Kid Stuff plays the kind of music that Captain Bogg & First Mate McGraw had in mind for kids of all ages when we started our piratical mission 7 years ago.
In regular saturday rotation are artists by the name of; Beck, They Might Be Giants, The Aquabats, Eyeball Skeleton (A rock band that consists of two young boys and their dad!), The Chipmunks, Spike Jones, The Ventures, Fountains of Wayne, The Muppets, Captain Bogg & Salty, and on… and on…
If ye can’t tell, I’m a fan. So imagine my button-bustin’ joy when the hosts of the show (Belinda , Hova, and DJ Wah-wah) moved to our home port AND became fans of our little pirate band. Since then we have been proud to receive a whole lot of glorious airplay on Greasy Kid Stuff. We have even crafted special, one-of-a-kind, original recordings for use on their show.

For the next three consecutive Saturday mornings Greasy Kid Stuff is broadcasting on 94.7 KNRK from 8am – 9am. It’s a trial run for them and the station to see if everyone grooves together. Let me tell you mates, Portland needs a show like this. So here’s what I recommends… catch a show and if you dig it, let the station know that our town wants Greasy Kid Stuff.
