Autumn Updates from yer Captain
· Friday September 29, 2006 by Captain Bogg ·
Ahoy there me mates and foc’sle hands! Aye, I thought it was about time to let ye all in on the latest plots and ploys of the Pollywogg pirates, proper.
It’s been a grand summer for the crew of Captain Bogg & Salty; what with all the Oregon and Washington tours, the county fairs, the video shoots, the first ever Portland Pirate Festival, Ramshackle’s black belt certification in the ancient art of Surprising Bamboo Stick Whirling, Salty and Sunny Jim’s invention of Purple Tiki Soda-Pop, Buckle’s first trip to summer-camp-in-the-woods, McGraw and Fili’s Honorable Mention in this year’s “Practycal Solutions For Pyrates” science fair, but… batten down the hatches and grip the life lines, cause the Pollywogg won’t be heading in for dry dock. October and November will mark many a grand X in the sand, I wager.
Captain Bogg & Salty’s Tour of the Eastern Shores
First on the docket is a barrage of shows in NEW York and NEW Jersey. That’s right, we won’t be spending any time in the OLD Yorks and Jerseys, only the brand-spank-ingest New ones. We’ve got all manner of engagements lined up to spread the Eat A Lime message down that Eastern shore. If ye live within 50 leagues of these shows, get yer hat an meet us there. If ye knows someone who should see us, then spread the good word. There’s a mate.

The Pollywogg Gets Spooky
We sure do love Halloween. Why last year Sunny Jim, McGraw and I decked out one of our own home ports with fantastical piratical decorations, just for something to do. Well this year we are joining forces with the Northwest’s largest and scariest haunted attraction, Scream at the Beach. The grinning ghouls over there in Jantzen Beach contacted us last November, in the hopes that we would partner up with them on a massive pirate-themed undertaking. We have struck an accord, I can say.
Scream at the Beach has painstakingly recreated the little costal town of Port Royal in their main lobby and starting Friday, October 13th Captain Bogg & Salty will be throwing free concerts EVERY WEEKEND! And that’s not all mates, Angus Bogg himself (meself) collaborated on the script for the haunted attraction, Pirates: Brethren of the Black Flag. In fact, many of the voices, narration, and sound effects that accompany ye down the dark passages of this scareable voyage were produced by Captain Bogg. Why, even our music underscores the horrifying pirate adventure that awaits ye.
A warning now, Pirates: Brethren of the Black Flag is most definitely “scary”. It is designed for older and more seasoned buccaneers who enjoy a bit of terror with their crossed-bones.
Now, that doesn’t mean that our pint-sized pirates are to be left behind. Not a bit. Why with the relentless free performances by your favorite pirate band in a picturesque pirate-town setting, a pirate stunt show and fun house aboard “The Black Rose”, and our very own booth filled with new items from the treasure hold… every sea dog and pup in your crew be rewarded with a trip to “The Beach”.

Music Video, On the Horizon… November
That’s right buccos. We have waited with baited breath, but soon we shall have our first music video: Pieces of 8ight!
Many of our mates joined us for a madcap day at Creston Elementary in order to donate their mugs for a galloping romp, captured forever on film. Eternally grateful, we be. Coming in November, the fruits of our labors shall be ripe for the picking.
Stand by, all hands, for the world premiere of the PIECES of 8IGHT MUSIC VIDEO!
Fair Winds to Ye All.
