Avast ye scallywagg… ye have stumbled upon me private writin’s o’ our adventures! Why it seems only yesterday we set sail for distant ports. Now Salty’s gettin’ to be a big buccaneer, an’ Cap’n Bogg’s shortened his stride a bit. What really made the Bite of Salem special this year was the luxurious room I shared with Fili and ‘Shackle at the Phoenix Hotel. Besides the enormous electronic mural of a Phoenix in the main lobby, I have many other fine memories of our stay: Sharing late night cocktails, goofin’ with SJ before he left to feed his cat, a television documentary on Will Smith, and an expansive complimentary breakfast that included hand-pressed waffles, omelettes, cereal, toast, coffee, orange/apple/pineapple juices, fresh fruit, and assorted cereals. I noticed that Filibuster ate only Fruitloops, but I chose not to say anything.
